During this trip you will visit Listvyanka settlement, Lake Baikal museum and Chersky observation platform, Cape Khoboy and the Small sea. You will travel to Olkhon Island and explore the frozen lake Baikal by hovercraft "Khivus", will try ice skating and experience the most unforgettable lunch on the ice of Baikal.
Itinerary
1
Day 1
  • 11.45 -12.30 Arrival in Irkutsk by flight from Moscow, meeting at the airport.
  • 13.00 – 14.00 - Enjoy lunch of Baikal cuisine at one of the city restaurants.
  • 14.30 – 15.30 - After lunch and check in at “Irkutsk city Center” hotel we depart by coach to Lake Baikal, Listvyanka. Lake Baikal is the world’s deepest freshwater lake, listed as one of the UNESCO’s World Natural Heritage.
  • 16.30 - Upon arrival to Listvyanka we will discover more about the origin and history of the lake at Baikal Museum and meet the cute Baikal Seal in the aquariums as well as the Baikal Fishes.
  • 17.30 – Further we will take a funicular up to Chersky Stone, an observation platform to witness the beautiful sunset of Lake Baikal and source of the Angara river.
  • Return to Irkutsk by coach. Dinner (on your own). Overnight.

Day 2
  • 9.00 This morning we continue our adventure trip on Baikal and will head by coach to the Small sea - a part of Baikal between the mainland and Olkhon Island. (3 hours drive) with one stop en route at the “obo” site to worship the local deities while sparkling some white liquid and tying ribbons on the bushes.
  • Upon arrivel to MRS (ferry station) we continue our trip along the ice of Baikal on
  • aLL terrain trucks across the strait of Small Olkhon Gates to the Island of Olkhon - the heart of the lake, its energetic center , the largest one out of 22 Baikal islands, 70 km long & 30 km wide, and the only inhabited island on the lake.
  • Check in at Art hotel “Port Olkhon”. Lunch to be served at the restaurant of the hotel. And some spare time in the afternoon to explore the surroundings on your own. D inner (on your own).

Day 3
  • Breakfast. Today we will explore the frozen Lake Baikal by local hovercraft known as “Khivus”. We will travel to the north of Olkhon, Cape Khoboy.
  • Along the way will visit the picturesque Three Brothers Cape’s rocks, seeing the spectacular rock near the widest place at Baikal. Then continue to the ice kingdom, we will picture with the crystal-clear blocks of Baikal’s hummocked ice ridge and icy rocks at the Cape of Khoboy.
  • Enjoy an unforgettable lunch on ice and ice skating before return to the central village on Olkhon Island, Khuzhir.
  • Dinner to be served at the restaurant of the hotel (o your own). Overnight on the island.

Day 4
  • 10. 00 - After breakfast and check out we return by all terrain Trucks to MRS with some stops by to pose with transparent ice grottoes and enjoy the hunks of shiny ice with brilliant shade of blue when sunlight hits. The small sea if famous for its caves, covered with splendid icicles.
  • 12.00 – then continue our transfer by coach to Irkutsk with lunch of traditional buryat cuisine (boozy, buhler) followed by folk music in Zolotoya Orda ethnopark.
  • Upon arrival to Irkutsk check in at the hotel “Irkutsk City Center” or similar.
  • Walking city tour (on your own). Irkutsk is the de facto capital of Eastern Siberia situated on the bank of Angara river and historic downtown home to nice wooden houses.
  • Dinner (on your own). Overnight at the hotel in Irkutsk.

Day 5
  • Farewell. Return flight to _______.
